Welcome to my portfolio!

Please take a look at some of the games and prototypes I have made below

About me

Hi my name is David! Recently graduated my master's in Game Design at the IT-University of Copenhagen and now residing in The Netherlands. I very much enjoy creating games with a "Yes and!" attitude resulting in some games that are quite funky. I have a large interest in game design, and had some university projects with a focus on level design.

The Adventures of Swordman and Knight

What gameplay changes have an effect on people's perception of companion characters
This was my Master's Thesis project. I made a combat prototype where I measured how gameplay changes impact players' connection to a companion character using an A/B test. The project itself was focus mostly on the research side of things, which led to the prototype itself to be lacking in some areas. Regardless, the research itself ended up being worthwhile!

The Untold Story of Vísdómír

Vísdomír has been abandoned, books of knowledge have been left behind... Explore the abandoned town and figure out what happened!
This was a big level design project I worked on during the second semester. I worked as Creative Director, Game Designer and Level Designer. The game is made in Unreal Engine.

Slayer of Mythics

Slayer of Mythics is a deathly difficult bullet-hell boss-rush-esque game with reality bending evil. Slay the evil that plagues the world, if you can…
Made in Unity for a course at university, this game was based on the idea of having the bosses be so powerful they could move the game screen itself! One of those "Yes and!" games. I worked on the 2D animations, some of the game design and mostly as a producer

Alien Specimen Collector

Defeat aliens and collect their samples!
This game was an exercise in C# and the Unity game Engine. While less design heavy, it was more focused on the programming as each element is coded from scratch by me.

LSD FPS

Shoot down the chimeras in a psychedelic storm!
This game was created for a game jam, another favorite pastime of mine. I worked with one other person, so I was responsible for game design, sound design, 2D animations and some programming. This was also another "Yes and!" games and was such a blast to create!

More to come!

I am currently working on a FPS prototype with foundations similar to game like Ultrakill or Post Void.

I am also supporting a friend's project through making some small character animations.

The Untold Story of Vísdomír

A challenge in this game was to convey some of the aspects of the story. There are no NPCs so a lot of the storytelling comes from the environment. The tiered class based society also had to be shown through visuals. Left behind objects to indicate the evacuation and colored roofs to signify districts were some of the choices we made to show this.

Below is a some more images from the process and the game.
